Problem: Number of Phonons

    Calculate the total number of phonons in the Debye approximation. Discuss the low and high temperature limits - that is, tex2html_wrap_inline6433 and tex2html_wrap_inline6435 . Here tex2html_wrap_inline6437 is the Debye wavenumber, tex2html_wrap_inline6439 is the sound velocity and s=1,2, and 3 correspond to the three phonon modes. The number of atoms in the system is tex2html_wrap_inline6443 .
