Problem: Bulk Modulus of Phonon Gas

      The volume dependence of the phonon mode frequencies is approximated by the Grüneisen relation, tex2html_wrap_inline6449 , where tex2html_wrap_inline6377 is a constant of the order of unity. Calculate the pressure and the bulk modulus of the phonon gas. Use the Debye approximation to estimate the order of magnitude of this quantity and compare it to the measured bulk moduli of solids.
