Static and fluctuating charge order in the organic conductors W. Yu, F. Zamborszky, B. Alavi, S.E. Brown Department of Physics and Astronomy, UCLA, Los Angeles, CA 90095-1547 USA Charge order (CO) is demonstrated in many TMTTF and TMTSF organic conductors. The order parameter of CO in the (TMTTF)$_2$AsF$_6$ material was established from the spin labeled $^{13}$C NMR spectrum, and the ratio of charge density in two inequivalent sites is about 3:1. The charge order coexists and competes with the spin- Peierls order at low temperature. In the (TMTSF)$2$PF$6$ materials, The inhomogeneous linewidth broadening through quenched disorder shows the existence of local charge fluctuations. We attribute this observation as impurity pined fluctuating charge order in a short time scale.
